A hard weekend's work

The cast, instrumentalists and dancers all met together last weekend to work on Rock. We rehearsed all Saturday, and then all Sunday afternoon. Then on Sunday evening we performed with a small select choir at Christ Church, Burney Lane in front of the evening congregation. This was the first performance with costumes and lights. We're thrilled with how it went, and are looking forward to the premiere...

Here's a couple of photos:

The Previsits Begin

Rock has really begun now. Over the last couple of weeks, Roger and a few cast members have been visiting different choirs for tour one, making sure that everything is going well, and giving them a bit of a last minute blast of enthusiasm.

On Wednesday evening last week, Roger, Alyson, Rachel and Bill travelled to Wigan. Wigan is a new venue for us, and they like to do things a bit differently. Not all of the choir could make an evening meeting, so the previsit began at 5pm with a break for a meal in the middle.

Then on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Roger, Mary, Bill, Simon and Helen had a tour of the north of England - Barrow in Furness/Ulverston on Friday night, Penrith Saturday afternoon, Blyth Sunday morning and afternoon, and Sunderland Monday evening. All the choirs seem to be getting on really well, and most people seem to have memorised their words!

Pray for all the tour one venues that they are able to sell their tickets, and that the choir members can feel happy and confident with all their word and part learning.

Roger's latest email update

Dear Friends,

We are nearly there – the World Premiere of ROCK is just over 2 weeks away. The opening night (Sat 01 Nov) is already sold out, but there are still tickets left for Sun 02 Nov at 4pm and 7.30pm. You can order in the CMM online shop

Click here for details of other venues for Tour One

A vital issue I must mention is our 2010 AND BEYOND appeal. We urgently need support for life after ROCK. As things stand we will not be able to support Annie, Helen and myself once the Tours are over, but we have a great vision for extending and developing the ministry. A small monthly or weekly commitment from our supporters will go a long way towards enabling this to happen. Please download our 2010 AND BEYOND appeal leaflet and consider responding.

Many thanks for your time, prayers and encouragement.

Bless you all!

Roger

Learning to dance

At one moment in the performance, Jesus washes Peter's feet. Now we've decided that Peter is going to be ticklish - and why not? And after he's had his feet washed, he's going to get them dirty again by joining in with the dance.

The photo I've put on here is Sally Jones (choreographer) teaching Devon Brown (Peter) to dance. Devon is of course famed for his dancing in Pharisee, 12 years ago, and I have to say, he is a suprisingly good mover...
